EZE-LAP Technical Information

EZE-LAP DIAMOND Products USA has been the pioneer and originator of diamond sharpeners since the early 1970's. Their patented diamond bonding process and modern technology allows EZE-LAP to produce the finest quality diamond products for the lowest possible price. The patented process of heat treatment that bonds the highest quality industrial grade diamond particles in a stainless alloy to a precision matched metal substrate, has been imitated, but has never come close to being duplicated. The resulting surface integrity from EZE-LAP process measures about 72 on the Rockwell C hardness scale. By utilising this technology, EZE-LAP has created a surface that works on carbide, ceramic, tool steel, hardened materials and the newer stainless steels that are used by most major tool and knife manufacturers today.

EZE-LAP boasts about its quality. They offer the flattest, most consistent production diamond tools available on the market today. Even after years of satisfaction EZE-LAP customers are still amazed at the quality and consistency of finishes that are achieved by the diamond tools. This kind of quality is achieved by a product entirely made in the U.S.A. and we take pride in bringing these products to you.

EZE-LAP manufactures products using four different diamond grits:

Superfine Grit
Fine Grit
Medium Grit
Coarse Grit
Extra Coarse Grit

This wide selection in diamond sizes allows you to match the right diamond surface to your specific sharpening application.

Superfine Grit

To achieve the ultimate in polished finish try our Superfine (1200) grit diamond surface. It is designed to polish and fine finish to mirror perfection. EZE-LAP superfine steels are designed for professional use and are ideally suited for chef, food processing, woodworking and industrial application where only perfection is tolerated. Available on selected flat plates and steels, check designation "SF" after the number for ordering, i.e. (D10SF or 81SF).

Fine Grit

We at EZE-LAP feel that 98% of all sharpening can be performed by our fine (600) grit diamond. This fine grit diamond has the abrasive ability to effectively sharpen a dull knife in less than a minute and bring the edge to a keen razor finish. The fine grit is offered on all EZE-LAP products. Models that have the designation "F" indicate fine grit after the numbers, i.e. (26F to 72F).

Medium Grit

When your job requires a surface that will sharpen quickly, but still leave a high quality finish (suitable for shaving), EZE-LAP offers a medium (400) grit diamond. Designated by "M" after the model number to indicate medium grit, i.e. (26M or 72M).

Designated by "C" after the model number, i.e. (71C or 81C).
